Formal education is what we Americans would call traditional
education, where we would attend K through 12th grade and then onto
college. That type of education is long term and institution-based. Formal education will be very structured and
academic it will also exclude itself from exterior environments.
Non-formal education will typically be short in duration and
tend to be practical. This type of education will be non-credential-based,
flexible and environment based. Examples of Non-Formal education are job
training, community demonstrations and CPR training.
Informal education can be anything we learn in everyday life
like, playing a game, gardening ordoing chores around the house.
